When you report a scheme or contact us
The report form collects what you choose to tell us: the name of the person or company, links, a description, how you came across it, an approximate amount, and, optionally, your email address. The contact form collects your name, email address and message. Reports and messages are private. Nothing you submit appears on this site.
What we do with reports
If a report appears credible, we may initiate our own investigation. We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or court order. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't share it for marketing.
Retention policy
Submissions are kept for as long as they are needed to review the tip or follow up. You can request that we delete your submission at any time through the contact form.
Information about people in our case database
Case pages summarize information from public sources, mainly government releases, court records and news reports, and describe charges as allegations. If you believe an entry about you is inaccurate or out of date, please tell us through the contact form.
Your choices and rights
You can use the report form without giving your name or email address. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you; contact us and we'll respond. The site is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and form submissions travel encrypted to our email provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don't send passwords, account numbers or identity documents through our forms.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
